The Bangalore Urban District Chess Association (BUDCA) was established under the aegis of the Karnataka State Chess Association (KSCA) to foster and expand the game of chess across Bengaluru Urban.

BUDCA is driven by a passionate 12-member team featuring a unique blend of chess players, parents, and tournament organisers. United by a shared vision, the association is dedicated to elevating the chess ecosystem in Namma Bengaluru to new heights.

Key Objectives of BUDCA:

• Promote & Develop Chess: Encourage, expand, and elevate the game of chess while holding competitive events across Bengaluru Urban.
• Host Tournaments: Organise matches and championships spanning taluk, inter-taluk, district, state, national, and international levels.
• Player Development: Facilitate structured training and coaching programs to nurture local chess talent.
• Support Academies & Institutions: Provide technical support, infrastructure, and standardised guidelines to help schools, academies, and corporations run chess tournaments.
• Governance & Standards: Establish clear rules and regulations to ensure the seamless, fair conduct of all tournaments.

BUDCA is dedicated to transforming Bengaluru Urban’s chess landscape through high-quality tournaments and grass-roots development programs. A core pillar of our mission is bridging the gender gap in sports by actively encouraging young girls to take up chess and providing them with full support to excel on and off the board.
